At Owensmouth High School, our Staff and Faculty believe in the importance of working together as equal partners with parents and guardians.  It is through a shared vision and collaboration that we can foster a positive relationship that will lead to the success of students and the school as a whole. 

Parents can partner with our school by promoting a culture of literacy and high expectations at home and school.  Parents can participate as volunteers, participate in school events, and become active members or attendees of committee meetings.  Together we can ensure that our students will graduate from Owensmouth High School college and career ready.

School Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (SWPBIS)

School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (SWPBIS) fosters a culture of disciplinegrounded in positive behavior intervention. Positive behavior support is a systems approach for establishing the social culture and individualized behavioral supports needed for schools to achieve both social and academic success for all. It is based on research that indicates the most effective discipline systems use proactive strategies designed to prevent discipline problems.

Every student and adult has the right to be educated in a safe and healthy school environment that supports all aspects of their well-being. Every educator has the right to teach in an atmosphere free from disruption. This will be achieved through adopting a consistent school-wide discipline plan forevery school in LAUSD.
